コミカルと融合したJホラー「消えない」
YouTubeチャンネル「kouichitv」による短編映画『消えない』は、一見すると不条理コメディの皮を被りながら、 その実、人間の認識のずれと救いのなさを描いた、極めて独創的な「現代の怪談」だ。本作が批評家や視聴者から絶賛される所以は、「恐怖」と「滑稽」の境界線を曖昧にする演出の巧みさにある。
まず、視覚的ギミックの使い方が秀逸だ。
「赤い霊」の姿は、あまりにもチープで露骨だ。
通常、ホラーにおいて幽霊は隠されるべき存在だが、本作ではそれをあえて衆目に晒し、主人公にだけがその異常性を確信しているという構図を作る。
この「主観的な確信」と「客観的な否定」の乖離が、物語に底知れぬ不安を定着させている。
特筆すべきは、霊能者・雲見横子との対話シーンだ。
ここでの彼女の振る舞いは、典型的なインチキ霊能者のパロディのように見えるが、「何もいないわよ」という言葉が、逆に主人公をさらなる孤立へと追い込む。
ここで描かれているのは、心霊現象そのものの恐怖ではなく、「自分の苦しみが誰にも理解されず、存在しないものとして扱われる」という精神的な恐怖だ。
脚本の構成も緻密だ。
タイトルの『消えない』が示す通り、除霊という儀式を経てもなお、赤ん坊のような霊は付きまとい続ける。
ラストシーンで見せる「慣れ」と「絶望」が入り混じったような主人公の表情は、観客に「これは果たして終わったのか、それとも一生続く地獄の始まりなのか」という重い余韻を残す。
この作品は、シュールな笑いを提供しながらも、その深層では「他者との共感の不可能性」という冷徹な真理を突いている。
kouichitvが持つ独自のユーモアセンスが、ホラーという器を借りることで、より鋭利な批評性を獲得した傑作と言えるだろう。
